  1. IMMEDIATE: Oxygen masks ON (100%/Emergency) ā€“ BOTH crew simultaneously
  2. Establish interphone communication on O2 masks
  3. Initiate emergency descent: THRUST LEVERS IDLE + SPEED BRAKES FULL
  4. Descend at VMO/MMO ā€“ do not exceed
  5. Target altitude: 10,000 ft OR MEA/MORA whichever is HIGHER
  6. ATC: MAYDAY call ā€“ aircraft, position, emergency, altitude, intentions
  7. Squawk 7700
  8. QRH: Rapid Decompression checklist after descent established
  9. FA notification via interphone
  10. Select divert airport ā€“ nearest suitable with ILS

  • O2 masks donned within 10 seconds
  • Emergency descent initiated within 30 seconds
  • VMO/MMO used for descent ā€“ not below
  • Terrain considered ā€“ MEA used if above 10,000 ft
  • MAYDAY call content: complete

  • O2 masks not donned before any other action (hypoxia risk)
  • Leveling at 10,000 ft when terrain requires higher altitude
  • Descent rate exceeding VMO/MMO
  • No ATC notification
